This really took some time. In April I got invited to beautiful Görlitz where the EURO FASHION AWARD took place. An award show dedicated to young design talents from all over Europe. In the jury: not only industry icons such as H&M’s head of design Margareta van den Bosch or Textilwirtschaft’s editor in chief of womenswear design Gudrun Allstädt, but also a handful of selected fashion bloggers (such as me).
In the two days we’ve spend in Görlitz we checked out the designers work and also found some time to explore this beautiful city. See my photo diary below.

This city is beyond beautiful! No wonder why a lot of Hollywood movies were produced in Görlitz: The Grand Budapest Hotel, Inglourios Basterds, The Reader… just to name a few. After a quick touch up at the hotel we took an exciting tour through the city, exploring the small alleys and former film sets.
I was wearing: coat, pullover, jeans and sneakers by Acne Studios, watch by Junghans, snapback by H&M

And then, we finally got the chance to go backstage – just hours before the award show took place. The location: the incredibly beautiful Kaufhaus Görlitz (Grand Budapest Hotel was filmed here, you remember?).
Behind the scenes us bloggers had a closer look on every collection, talked to the designers and chose our favorite pieces of the contestants designs.

After an exciting inside view of what happenes backstage at such a big award show, we took our seats next to this top-class jury and enjoyed a super diverting evening packed with runway shows. Eleven designers/duos presented their capsule collections, demonstrating (continous) a very high level of work and creativity.

In the end of the night the regular jury named three designers as winners of the Euro Fashion Award: Anastasia Lotikova (1st), Anna Bornhold (2nd) and Heike Becker, Benjamin Kräher, Sebastian Schettler (3rd).
In addition the blogger jury (four German fashion bloggers plus me) named our winner: Katharina Bucek from Denmark. She convinced us with her military insipred and very well drafted “Bad News” menswear collection (in the photo). Congratulations to everyone!
