Always a good idea: escaping your city for an exciting short trip. This time we packed our weekender bags and boarded a (super outdated) train to the Czech Republic. Only five hours later we made it to Prague and enjoyed two fantastic days in this beautiful, medieval town. For this wonderful short trip we teamed up with The Grand Mark hotel. This is our review. *drum roll*

I’ve been to Prague before. It’s been a while, actually it’s been five years now and when I went there with my school in 2011 we stayed in a hostel somewhere pretty unfavorable. Other than that, The Grand Mark is located only a few minutes away from the main station and welcomes you with unobtrusive staff, loads of flowers and impressive artworks. We had a very relaxing check-in (even if we didn’t have a credit card for the deposit with us), sipped a welcome drink at the bar and – very bloggerlike – snapped some first impressions from the lobby.
The best feeling about staying in a good hotel is the excitement you get when you open the doors of your room for the very first time. Of course I’ve been checking the press pictures on the hotels website before and yeah, I even stalked the photos of other guests via Instagram and its very handy feature called Geotag but exploring your home for the next few days is something so much better to do in real life.
Long story short: suite 307 is a pretty beautiful retreat for an exciting weekend in an unfamiliar city. From the super cosy living room and the adjacent bedroom to a walk-in-closet (yes please) and the spacious bathroom, this suite makes you want to stay inside all weekend.

drinksBut staying in the room for two days would not only make you miss out on this beautiful historic city but also on one of the best grill restaurants I’ve ever had a taste on. Le Grill, located in the ground floor of the hotel surprised us with an amazing three-course-dinner, a very smooth house red and super pleasant waiters. I need that chocolate cake now…
breakfastAnd then – after your casual eight hours food coma – it’s breakfast time. The Grand Mark knows how to get me into a good mood in the morning and serves a huge range of sweets, pastries and cakes. There even is a chocolate fountain. In the morning. For breakfast.
… and thank you so much for having us! We enjoyed this stay a lot and reccommend the hotel to everyone who is seeking for the perfect luxurious weekend getaway. The Grand Mark is a perfect combination of a classic grand hotel and a stylish boutique hotel and we would love to come back one day!
