As the season before, Hien Le’s runway show opened the week with great looks for him and for her. Clear cuts, red color gradations in combination with orange and creme and iconic dragonfly prints on complete male looks and skirts for women – the week couldn’t have had started in a better way!
Favourite moments: spotting one of my favourite Berlin models on the runway, Anna Nevala (2nd picture) and ‘crazy in love’ by Beyonce and Jay-Z during the final walk – party mood on!
2. FRANZISKA MICHAEL
Studio shows are stressful. Hundreds of people in one room at one go, trying to get in the best position to have a look on the outfits and snap some pictures. After all I luckily decided to go to the studio presentation of Franziska Michael. Neon yellow/green colors, sporty cuts and tennis dressed – the designers intension was clear. The setting was held in the mood of a tennis court and the background ‘music’ was the sound of a match.
I liked the idea of girls having a tennis match on a sunny day not wearing white but these loud and gaudy outfits and hats.
3. PERRET SCHAAD
When I read in the invitation that the designer duo Perret Schaad would present their SS14 collection at Neue Nationalgalerie I couldn’t wait for this show to take place. The iconic building by Mies Van der Rohe belongs to one of my favourite buildings ever and so the show had to be something very special as well. Models walking along the glass walls in the inside of the building, the audience watching this from the outside. No music, no seats but maybe the most impressive show I’ve ever attended to.
4. DAWID TOMASZEWSKI
No one can deny it: Dawid Tomaszewski counts to one of the most talented designers in the German fashion scene. Stunning dresses with complex draperies and beautiful accessoires, knit jumpers with a stickler for details as I’ve never seen it before and shaded models – this seasons collection by the Polish born designer made my flesh crawl. Again.
5. LALA BERLIN
Summer fashion at it’s best! Easy looks in light and bright colors, great tropical prints on airy blouses and long coats and extraordinary knitwear tops. This is how the confident, sexy and strong woman should look next summer and this is Lala Berlin.
The models of this show were the most beautiful models of the entire Berlin Fashion Week and I loved the broad-brimmed straw hats most of them were wearing. Subsequent to the show great drinks and delicious food was served – that’s how every fashion show should be!
