THE ATMOSPHERE:
Before we arrived in the Riad Anayela I already knew that this hotel is something really special. The list of nominations and awards goes from features in ELLE Decoration, New York Times, VOGUE and Harper’s Bazaar to unbelievable three times of winning the The World Hotel Award.
Three rooms and two suites for ten guests in total, 2 floors pure, elgant Arabic and Maroccan design, an incredible view over the entire Medina of Marrakech from the rooftop – the list of superlatives could go on and on.
The Riad Anayela is located in a 300 year old city palace and is named after a girl called Yela who lived in this building several decades ago. After five days of staying in this hideaway my soul, head and heart felt so pure and relaxed, nothing to worry about because of this excellent service.

THE SUITE:
The first two nights we stayed in one of the three rooms in the ground-floor of the Riad. Waking up to the sound of cute, little sparrows which are having a morning bath in the swimming pool just two meters beeline away from you is a great feeling.
Every room of the Anayela is uniquely decorated with several Maroccan style objects like little oil lamps, bowls and pillows (all of them exclusively designed by the owner of the hotel himself).
On our third day we got invited to move in one of the two suites, both equipped with a big open fire and both located in the first floor of the riad. Best thing: Having an extensive bath in the hugest bathtub I’ve ever seen! THE FOOD:
Arab cuisine at it’s best! Every dinner in the Anayela is cooked by real and lovely Maroccan women who domineer their crafts. There is nothing better than enjoying great Tajine and Harira, combined with a good white wine next to the swimming pool.
The only thing better than dinner at Anayela is breakfast at Anayela. The large range of marmelades, fresh fruit salad with rose water and freshly squeezed orange juice, warm crepes and honey yogurt… This is how a day should start! And of course the fresh mint tea mustn’t be missed!
TO PUT IT IN A NUTSHELL:
“As a result the house as a whole is a spectacular piece of art in itself. Here all one’s senses are beguiled and inspirational energies and emotions are awoken and set free in this unique atmosphere.”
– Riad Anayela Concept

Thanks to the entire Anayela team for these wonderful five days with excellent service!

    Best, J
